Chapter 1 :The Catcher in the Ryeis

    In this chapter we learn that Holden is at a boarding school in Pennsylvania  called Pency which is a therapy academy . Holden is failing all his classes except for one his English class, the school came to a conclusion that because of the non participation of Holden on so many accounts that he will not be attending Pency for the fall term. Holden doesn't like to talk about his past much and usually finds a away on avoiding it. At the end of this chapter we find Holden on top of a hill watching the annual football game because he was manger of the fencing team but forgot all the equipment on the subway which forced the team to return early. After thinking of memories on the hill Holden begins to walk to Mr.spencers house his former history teacher to say goodbye before he leaves Pency.
